Saturday Workshop Series- Tunisian Crochet with Donna

Here is a sneak peak of the finished project. It appears far more complicated than it is! Tunisian crochet, in a way, is a cross between crochet and knitting. This is very different from your typical granny square (which we love) or standard crochet stitches (single crochet, double crochet, etc.). Tunisian crochet creates a denser fabric without gaps between stitches. You will be gathering loops from the starting chain and leaving them on your long hook (forward pass). Once completed you will do a return pass by working stitches together after a yarn over…and then repeat! Trust us, amazing, fun, rewarding- And easier than you think.

For this class you will need to be familiar with crochet. This means knowing how to hold your yarn and crochet hook comfortably, how to chain and create your foundation row of stitches and read a pattern. 

A kit is included with your workshop registration. The kit will include a cowl pattern, two skeins of Rios yarn (your color choice), and a Tunisian crochet hook. It is important you pick up/out your kit prior to the workshop as the yarn will need to be put into a ball prior to the workshop. You will also need a regular crochet hook in size US I-9/5.5 mm, removable stitch markers, a tapestry needle and scissors.
