Saturday Workshop Series- Knitting Cables & Lace with Sarah

Learn the basics of knitting cables and lace with Sarah in this handy workshop!

Using The Elegant Ewe's Cables & Lace Scarf pattern as your practice piece, you will learn the basics of how to perform a cable, tips for keep yourself organized while working with a chart, YOs and their sister decreases as well as the subtleties of working a YO when surrounding stitches are K or P.

For this class you will need to be familiar with knitting basics. This means knowing how to hold your yarn and needles comfortably, how to cast on, bind off, knit, purl and read a pattern (although not necessarily a chart). 

A kit is included with your workshop registration. The kit will include the scarf pattern, one skein of Plymouth's Yakima yarn and a set of cable needles. Kits will be available for pick up starting September 12th. It is important you pick up your kit prior to the workshop as the yarn will need to be put into a ball ahead of time. Students will also need to bring US #7 knitting needles of your choice (straight or circular are fine) and stitch markers.
